My last visit (for this time!)

For my last visit to the orphanage (30/7) I gave the working "mothers" a small "salary". This money we try to give to the 13 hard working woman a few times each year. These woman are working day and night for the boys and get paid very little for their hard work so we decided a few years ago that this could motivate them. This money that is given comes from elsewhere and is NOT the money that we collect for the boys. The money for the boys is for them only!

For this time, each worker got 240 Sudanese pounds which is not that much money i felt at first, but due to escalations in prices in Sudan this was not bad at all. It was really satisfying and amazing to see the faces of these woman when they received their envelopes with money. Each of them signed a paper saying that she received the money and with every signature came nice words and smiles that made my day.

The other thing that I did was giving Bakri, the oldest boy who is studying french in University, a laptop that was bought for him. This will help him with his studies and he also said that he will enter a competition next year in some sort of french writing. We hope that this will make him get the best grades in his class next year as well!

The sicker and smaller kids that are in bed have a TV in their room now that they are really enjoying and the older and healthier boys have been given a bigger TV that has been put up on the wall for them. The place looks overall a lot better than before, medication is being supplied to the sick kids and the bathrooms have been fixed by someone which we don't know of. There is one big bathroom with a bathtub inside and then several smaller bathrooms outside that the boys can use by themselves.

For any questions about my visit to Sudan, please contact me on I.Care.Board@gmail.com!
Thanks for helping us help others!/ Ehood

The last supplies

Today my uncle's wife and I headed out at noon to get the final things on the list of needs.
Many of the needs for this visit have been food items and this is due to food prices going up more than affordable for most people in the country. Some of the things that are getting really expensive are sugar, milk, rice - which are all things I was asked to buy.

For today's visit I got to take some pictures but these were very few and I was disappointed that I could not take more pictures or film. There have been problems before with pictures taken and getting into wrong hands or being downloaded online for other reasons than the kids best, so we really do understand that they are limiting photographs in the orphanage. I will try to get some more pictures next time I go so that we can use them in our coming events.

Today 20 pairs of shoes where bought (the white plastic bags),
some more food and bananas that the boys love so much.

Two days ago I bought a mini laptop for Bakri, the laptop was used but in really good shape and was bought for a very reasonable price. We hope that this will help him with his studies next year and that he will once again get the best grades in his class!

For my next visit: Bakri will get his laptop and the mothers will get their "salaries" which are very needed in these days of expensive food and Ramadan feasts!

Be well, sending you guys in Sweden, and other places, some more heat because it is really getting unbearable here! Take CARE / Ehood

Third visit to the orphanage

Today, Ragda and myself were excused from the very busy 3rd Eastern Mediterranean Pharmaceutical Symposium (EMPS) and we skipped two classes so that we could visit the orphanage. Today was extremely hot and the whole city looked yellow/brownish from the sand in the air.

After attending the morning sessions and having lunch we headed back to the hotel, changed quickly and then headed towards Sagana (the place were the orphanage is located). We bought more diapers because this is always needed, we bought 3 boxes containing 54 packets of diapers (324 diapers!).
We also bought a box of 30 soaps that they told us they needed the last time I was there.

When we got there we were so happy to hear that Bakri, who studies French in university finished his first year with honours and got the best grades in his class!

We went with one of the girls working to a market and bought some bed covers that will be used after Ramadan; for Eid. This is something they felt was very important and it is a Sudanese tradition which would make the place nice for the kids during on of the biggest feasts of the year.

As always, it was amazing seeing the kids and their smiles warm every single piece of your soul and body.
Ragda bought the kids sweets and fruits, and like I remember from the first visits, the boys are still huge fans of fruits and loved the bananas.

stay tuned...
Ragda and I getting ready

Sending you guys in Sweden, and in other cold areas, some heat because it is so hot here that i think a piece of me actually melted on the way back from the orphanage!

News from lovely, but very warm Sudan

Hello everyone!
First of all, thank you all again for the amazing support and kind donations! The development of the orphanage would be possible without YOU.

Yesterday, I was at the orphanage for the first time in 1,5 years and it felt like I hadn't been there for much longer. The boys are all grown, they are looking healthier and what caught my attention most of all was how many they where - there are now 32 boys living in the orphanage, 7 of the boys go to school, 3 go to kindergarten and 1 goes to university. There are also two older men that live their since it has been their home from childhood. These go to a special school for older disabled people where they learn how to do different things that could make them get a job and have an income of their own. One of them got married last year!

I got a list from the principle of the orphanage and a working psychologist of the urgent needs:
- Pampers
- Soap
- Sugar, milk, oil,
- Underwear, perfumes, lotions, detergents
- Water cooler
- Bed covers
- A dining table
- Two water taps and workers to fix water accumulation in the yard

Today, most of these things were purchased and brought to the orphanage. We got a new list of things they are lacking and also they told us that they will be needing help with getting electricity.

I am so happy that i have been able to go two days in a row, i really want to go tomorrow and give them money for the water taps and workers but i don't know if i can make it. The pharmacy conference i am attending here in Khartoum starts on Friday and lasts a week, but i will do my best to visit the orphanage during this week.

Lots of love from the lovely, but very warm Sudan

10kr - 10 days!

Hey everyone!

Hope you're all doing well. As many of you may have seen we have created a new event on Facebook - '10 kr - 10 days'. As mentioned in a previous post, the reason for this online event is that we unfortunately are unable to host an actual event this summer due to our different and hectic schedules. However, we obviously want to raise money as often as we can and considering the fact that Ehood is traveling to Sudan shortly, we felt that the best solution to the event issue would be to host an event online. We are very happy and proud to say that it has been very successful so far! With 3 days left (the campaign ends on Wednesday night, 4th July) we strongly recommend you to pitch in with your 10 kr (or whatever amount you are able - and want - to help us with).

Update!

SSA's pretty logo!
Klick here to visit SSA's website!
Last Saturday, Ehood and Mae joined SSA's board meeting that took place June 16th in Rudan, Haninge where SSA president Ola Nordlund, treasurer Khadija Norell, and board member Nagat Abbas were present. We were told that a new branch of SSA has been formed in another part of Sweden (SSA Västra Götaland). Members of the SSA board visited the new SSA branch in Borås and Kinna. Khadija and Ola told us that they visited the Borås Zoo which was formed in connection with Sigvard Berggren bringing a lion from Sudan in the late 50's. His wife, Eva Berggren is one of the board members of the new SSA branch and she has also helped a lot with other SSA's projects. From now on Ehood will be responsible for sending out SSA's meeting protocols to the rest of the SSA-YC board. The meeting ended with a nice indoor picnic (due to the rainy weather) at Haninge's youth center located in the park.

Sigvard Berggren with the Sudanese lion

Today a few of us board members sat down at a café to catch up on what has been happening recently concerning I Care. We discussed the most recent SSA meeting that Mae and Ehood attended. We were also filled in by Sevgi on what was going on in TUF (Turkiska Ungdomsföreningen), which is an organisation that I Care is cooperating with. In addition to this we came up with a few fun and simple ways to fundraise money to the kids considering that we are, unfortunately, not able to plan and host an event in the near future. We usually have a big event every summer but have not been able to host one this year.

We will let you in on these ideas in a very near future, so stay tuned!

Collaboration!

Hey everyone!
You may not have heard from us in a while, but here we come bearing good news!
We are very excited to tell you that we have started a collaboration with a project named ‘Perspectives’, founded by Theodore Bergqvist.

This project has an aim to aid individuals/groups, like ourselves, with their desire to help other individuals.

In their own words, Perspectives describe themselves as follows:
"We believe in the strength of the individual. That each and everyone can make a difference. Everything starts with a sparkling light in the heart of an individual and this is more powerful than everything else."

This is something that we in the I Care committee strongly agree with and believe in, hence we are thrilled about this partnership and are very eager to see the outcome.

Like ourselves, Perspectives is a project that strives to help others. Therefore, we strongly recommend you to click your way into their official facebook page where you can learn more about the project and find out exactly what they are doing.

I'm Ehood!

Dear person reading this,

Here comes the last (best) presentation!

My name is Ehood Ali and I am the "president" of this amazing project!
For those who don't know what I Care is, then i can tell you shortly that it's a project under the Swedish-Sudanese Association (SSA) in which a group of girls are helping an orphanage in Sudan for mentally and/or physically disabled boys.

I am a 21-year old pharmacy student that lives and Studies in Uppsala. My family lives in Stockholm (sometimes in other parts of Sweden and also the world!) so i travel back and fourth between the biggest city in Sweden and the fourth biggest one very often. I'm raised in Stockholm and I've been to an English school since third grade and continued to do high school in English. Those who know me know that I love talking, laughing and making sure that every single second is spent wisely.

I love travelling more than anything in the world and I am so lucky to have been able to combine my passion for travelling and my pharmacy studies! I have been part of the board for Swedish National Association of Pharmaceutical Students (SNAPS) in 2011 and this has taught me how an organisation should and could work. All that I have learnt I have started applying to I Care and I will keep doing so to improve the project!

Through the years, we have been lucky enough to have someone from our board travel to Sudan at least once every six moths and check in on the orphanage. I am proud to say that I am the person that has been to the orphanage the most times (mohahaha) but I haven't been to Sudan in 1,5 years now! I am going to Sudan in July so I can't wait to be re-united with my second family again.

I can't explain in words what it feels like when we walk in to the orphanage and ten little boys come running towards you and give you the warmest hug you have ever felt. The boys get so excited and every single day we have to go home from the orphanage it truly feels like leaving a peace of our hearts, and I know i speak for the rest of the girls when I say this! When you go into the little room further inside, where the more sick boys are, and you see their faces light up when they see us - this is a feeling that is more than priceless. These little boys can't walk, they  can't speak and some of them can't even sit up by themselves, but they have the most beautiful smiles in the world.

Knowing that you might be just a tiny reason for that smile coming out is something that keeps me going many times.

Last but not least, I want to thank everyone that has attended our events, donated to the orphanage and supported us! I want to give a special thanks to a few very special friends in Sudan (you know who you are) that have helped us more than we could thank for. This project wouldn't have been anything without you guys!

Much love and CARE,

My Name is Mae

Hello fellow 'I Care'-ers!

So the turn has come to me to introduce myself in the purpose of you getting to know us a little better.
As mentioned above, my name is Mae Suliman, I'm 24 years old and currently studying my fourth out of five years of Dentistry at Umeå University. Unfortunately, this makes me the only SSAYC (Swedish Sudanese Association Youth Committee) board member up north, however we have skilled the art of Skyping over the years in order to keep in touch and stay updated on the project despite the distances between us.

When I'm not juggling patients and studies, I meet up with friends, (spend more time trying to collect motivation to work out than the time I actually spend doing it), catch up with family and friends, and (if the chance is given) travel back to my beloveds in Stockholm.

As Maha mentioned, the SSAYC was formed after attending a meeting of the SSA in 2008, where we started discussing the need of having a board of youths directed to other youths with the common goal of tying a connection between young people in Sudan and Sweden.

Early on in the founding of the board, we felt we needed a project that would speak to our members in which we could do something for Sudan. At that time, a lot of aid projects were directed to the problems of Darfur, and although it was (and still is) in need of highlighting, we felt we needed to shed light on other issues in Sudan that needed attention. This brought us to deciding on focusing on the orphans of Sudan and the social stigma that follows them.

In the winter of 2012, I travelled to Sudan ahead of the others in order to investigate on the orphanage that would need the most of our help. After visiting several orphanages that had been suggested by our members and discussing them with the other board members, we realized Dar al Fityan was in the greatest need of aid. As soon as the other board members arrived in Sudan, we got straight to work in trying to build up the spirits of both the boys and the broken home they lived in.

We are all incredibly happy, and feel an immense sense of gratitude, in knowing that we are fortunate enough to be part of this, and further knowing that had things not happened in this order, we probably never would have been blessed enough to engage in this project.

Old members: Thank you for your constant support over the years, we couldn't have done this without you. New members: We are greatly thrilled to have you onboard this project and look forward to seeing where this journey will lead us together.

Much love!

My Name is Fatima

Dear Reader,

My name is Fatima Osman and I am the second youngest board members in this project that we named I CARE. I turned 19 around a month ago, starting with my bachelors in Development Studies at Lund University the same year i graduated high school. I was intimidated starting a program where I was the youngest and least experienced student, but I now realize how lucky I am to have to have taken part of shaping this project. This project did not only reflect my personal interests, I learned, but also my academic interests.

Development Studies is an education that I believe teaches us about the structures we live in, and the importance of global case studies when analyzing conditions in developing countries. Coming in contact with the children in the orphanage was a subconscious drive for me to choose this education. My evolvement was rather spontaneous, later than the rest of the board members,  and a result of visiting the orphanage when in Sudan. Joining this journey has taught me more about myself than i had expected  and most importantly it taught me how I wish to interact with the world that we live in. With this said, the project has been more of a learning experience for me than an accomplishment. I wish to learn more from the kids that we have grown close to the past years, and I wish to share this experience with you.

Best Regards!

My name is Azza.

Hello dear readers! First of all, i would like to thank you for checking out the I Care blog! We’ll try to update the blog as often as we can, so keep tuning in and keep yourself updated. Together we can help our kids in the orphanage.

My Name is Azza Ali and I'm 23 years old. I’m currently studying Peace and Conflict studies and Political Science at Lunds University. I just finished my internship with Amnesty International where I worked within public relations, representing Amnesty and holding lectures. Right now I just can’t wait to finish school and take my first steps into the real adult life. I live in Malmö where im neighbors with the beautiful Maha Suliman. I love it here, but right now I want to go out and see the world.

I've been working with the I Care project since it started and have fallen in love with the work and the boys. Unfortunately, due to school, and exams I haven’t seen my boys in a while, but I’m planning on going to Sudan to see them this summer, Inshallah. I’m so proud (and jealous) of my friends who have had the chance to see the boys this winter and the past, but my time is coming soon.

Questions? Thoughts? Comments? Let us know!

That’s all for now folks!

I'm Maha

Hey everyone!
I want to start off this post by thanking for all of the positive feedback throughout this time that we have been woking with this project. Trust us when we say that it drives us even more in trying to light up just the daily life of thes beautiful boys at the orphanage. I'm going to spend some time introducing myself as the rest of the crew, for those of you who don’t know who I am. I hope these introductions have and will help in making it more personal, and encouraging you in knowing that anyone really could do this. A little reach out or a little time off your busy schedules really does more than you think!

My name is Maha  Suliman
I’m 22 years old turning 23 this year, and currently live and study in Malmö (southern Sweden). I study public health and recently finished my bachelors degree and am moving on to do my masters in the same field. As most of you I’m up to my head right now with exams and assignments, and I think I speak for the whole gang when I say that as much as it can be a struggle trying to juggle work what with the project and school, it’s nothing more of a joy putting time down to work with the ambitious people I’ve been blessed to work with on this project.
What got me to join the project was a meeting that I attended along with some of the other girls during the early summer of 2008. The meeting was held by the Swedish-Sudanese Association and among other things they were discussing the need of more young adults and adolescents to engage themselves within the association. We then decided to create the committee and after a few discussions on what we would focus on, we thought it would be cool to start some type of project that could in some way be linked to both Sweden and Sudan and eventually came to engage ourselves in the issue of orphans in Sudan. Thinking that it’s been almost 4 years since our first meeting and first event, I think it’s amazing how much can be done by just raising a single issue and watch it grow to something bigger bit by bit. I feel so blessed being part of this project along with my fellow board members, who at the same time are people I truly know, love and respect.

I want you all not to be shy if you want to comment anything, contact anyone of us or have an idea of your own that maybe you want to discuss. In that case you can e-mail me anytime at sulimanmaha@hotmail.com. I hope you’ll continue following us and our work with the orphanage and the boys, and thank you for your time : ) take care and hope to talk to you or meet you in the near future!
Maha

My Name Is Fatima S.

Hey everyone trying to make a difference!
To establish a more personal contact with the members of I Care as well as any other people reading this, we decided it would be more than appropriate for us to introduce ourselves, so here's my introduction.

My name is Fatima Suliman (do not get me mixed up with fellow board member, Fatima Osman), sometimes referred to as Tina. I am 17 years old, making me the youngest member of the board. I'm currently in my second year of Gymnasiet (Swedish highschool) where I study the Natural Science programme.

I haven’t always been a board member of I Care as I was too young when this project was initiated. Although, throughout the years I have done my best to contribute and help when it has been needed. I officially became a member of the board when we visited Sudan in the winter of 2010. Since then I have visited the orphanage several times during the two trips we have made to Sudan ever since.

Being known as very sensitive when it comes to the misfortune of others we were all nervous before my first visit to the orphanage, not knowing exactly how I would react. Knowing this, I was pleasantly surprised when we got there, as I realized that I was able to handle it a lot better than I had expected. I instantly fell in love with the boys and seeing that they appreciated all that they had and that little things such as a piece of candy put  wide smiles on their faces made everything so much easier and worthwhile.

I am truly and fully committed to doing my best to improve the quality of these boys’ lives, no matter what it takes. And with help from you guys I fully believe that we will be able to maintain achieving this.
Always bare in mind the people that are less fortunate than yourselves, and know that you can make a difference.

If you have any relevant questions, regardless of what they may be, please do not hesitate to contact us. This can be via a comment or our e-mail addresses.

You can contact me at : Lillafinatina@hotmail.com

My name is Sevgi

Hello everyone

I guess it is my turn to introduce myself, so here it goes.

As the title above states, my name is Sevgi and I am 21 years old. I am currently studying the second year of the Economical Candidate Programme at Södertörns University, and I will probably graduate in June 2013 with a bachelor’s degree in Economy.

I love spending time with my family, relatives and friends. Having a good relation with people in general makes me happy. I love music and I like travelling, since I am originally from Turkey I have had the opportunity to travel to Turkey and different places in Turkey. It is a beautiful country and really alive, there is a history in everything that you see which makes it really interesting.

I have not been involved in I Care from the beginning, but I held myself informed about I Care all the time since my nearest friends were involved. I love helping and I especially love children, I will put my soul and my heart into anything that has to do with children. This is the reason for why I decided to get more involved, so now I am a board member in I Care.

I have never met the boys from the orphanage because I have not had the chance to fly to Sudan yet. I will probably sometime soon visit the boys. Even though I never met them I can really feel them in my heart and I will do everything for them to feel us too. We have through time become a family so they are not only the boys from the orphanage but they are also our children!

For any further questions or consideration you can contact me on: saygin.sevgi1@gmail.com

KONY 2012

I am sure many of you have already seen this, but i would just like to share it again.

Its amazing how the cyber world has such a huge impact on young people and how much can be done through it! I am sharing this with you just so that you can see it, im not saying its right or wrong, or that i know anything more about the actual topic but i just wanted our members to see it. South Sudan has been having similar problems to this and i have to say that it is beyond embarrassing, for the so called most advanced animals in the world, that this can still be going on.

The weirdest thing for me about this, is that this person actually has disgusting people that are helping him hide, or "we" are not looking hard enough? Can't really tell which one it is. No one is invisible!

Take CARE
Ehood

My name is Abir

Hello everyone out there who Cares

We thought it's about time we introduced ourselves to you. I think most of you know who we are but in-case you don't, we'll make it easier for you

As the title states, My name is Abir. I am 25 year old pharmacist who right now lives in Stockholm, Sweden. I am working as a medical information officer at the pharmaceutical company Novartis.

I have been studying pharmacy in Uppsala, Sweden for 5 years. Once i finished i was back in Stockholm for work.
I love music, traveling and poetry. During my time of studying I have been fortunate enough to enjoy a great deal of all three. But with anything I have done and want to do, I have had a big passion that follows me wherever I go. The passion to help.

I have always been involved in I Care, from day one. I am the vice president and in charge of most of the co-operation work (so if you want to work with us, let me know).

When we started the work with the boys, I remember coming to the orphanage for the first time. These boys where happy and not at all shy to us though we came as strangers at the time. And with time they have grown to become family to all of us.

If you have any questions or consideration, or maybe an idea for a collaboration, please don't hesitate to email me on abir.abubakr@gmail.com

Much love
And this is me =)

Some Pictures..

Some of the new shoes bought for the boys

A delivery of food products

New cooler and stove/oven for the orphanage

Before the repainting job in the kitchen

After the repainting, before the cabinets were installed

Concerning pictures of the children:
The government in Sudan has very strict regulations on photographing in certain areas, such as the orphanage, and a special permit needs to be acquired. The manager of the orphanage allowed us to snap a few shots with the boys (all highly supervised), however these pictures can unfortunately not be published on the blog.
However, we are working on getting permission to take and publish pictures for our next visit in order for you to take part in updated pictures of the boys and their development.

Much love,
the I Care Board

Last Visit to the Orphanage

Hi everyone!
So we are now back to Sweden from our eventful trip in Sudan. Here is what happened the last days:

On Saturday, I headed out to the Souq al Sha'bi (a bazaar in Khartoum) together with Fatima Suliman and Fatma Omar, to get the last things for the boys, which were shoes, socks and underwear. We were informed by the manager at the orphanage that the boys were out on a day trip and would not be back until later that evening. Therefore we paid our last visit the next day, which was our last before leaving for Sweden.

We delivered the last things, and handed out envelopes with a bonus salary to the the caretakers (the moms) of Dar al Fityan. As some of you may know since earlier, this is a donation that was placed by the Khadija Project that wanted to shed light on the effort of these extraordinary women who daily take care of the boys, while on a low pay check and a family to feed.

We spent the rest of the afternoon playing with the boys, and teaching them Swedish songs. Their absolute favorite was Små Grodorna, which they probably made us sing about ten times, each time breaking down laughing and joining in on the moves.

In the end, it was time for the dreaded moment of saying goodbye. We went around to every child, hugging them, telling them to take care, and promising to be back soon. It was heart wrenching to leave as the young ones kept begging to go back with us to Sweden, asking if there wasn't an orphanage for them to live in back in Sweden just like this one.
All choked up, we left longing for the next time we would see our angels again <3

Like all other trips to the orphanage, this has been an equally strengthening and eye opening experience. All of us have probably often felt that we are incapable of solving all the miseries of the world. But seeing the smiles on the boys' faces every time we come visit, engaging in conversations with them, and feeling that our effort and presence there really matters, that is what makes us certain that any small contribution counts.

Thank you all for making this journey possible, and may 2012 take us to new heights and successes.

With love,
Mae Suliman, the I Care Board.

Voice-message from the kids!

Yesterday I started my day with waking up stressed out and it just felt like this day was going to be another cold Sunday morning. My winter vacation had come to its last day and just the thought of getting back to uni didn't make the day get any better. This was actually the first winter vacation in three years that I didn't spend in Sudan. It felt very weird staying in Sweden over the holidays, I was getting so used to spending the winter breaks in the warmth of Khartoum, Sudan. Before the holiday started I was very sad about not going to Sudan, but at the same time it was very nice being at home in Stockholm, celebrating new years with friends and just taking it easy.

Anyways, my Sunday didn't get any better as I had a seminar to complete for the next day (today) and I wasn't even half way through it...

Suddenly, my Sunday and last day of the vacation became my favorite day of the vacation!
I was with my friend studying for the seminar as i got a message on WhatsApp from Mae. It was an audio recording from the orphanage with a "Hello, we miss you"-message to me from the boys! Mae didn't even know about my "bad" day, she just sent it! I had sent Mae an audio recording where I said a few words to the boys, but they couldn't here it due to some technical reasons, but instead Mae got them to say "Hi" back to me!

Press play to hear the message they sent! :)

This did not only make my eyes water for a few minutes but it also reminded me how much these boys mean to me and all of us.

Thank you so much Mae, you saved my day! <3

A Delivery of Supplies Part 2

Good evening!

Yesterday I (Mae) went to the orphanage Dar al Fityan to get the rest of the things that the orphanage is in need of, with the help of Fatma Omar and Shaima Moedad. Before leaving off to buy the supplies, we sat down with the manager of the orphanage to discuss the budget and the things to be purchased. After this short meeting, we left for an afternoon shopping spree accompanied by two workers from the orphanage. The things that were purchased were the following:

- A new stove/oven
- Body creams
- Deodorants
-Airfreshners
-2 irons
- 1 camera (to document various activities the orphanage participates in)
- 1 digital receiver (for the kids' room in order to watch cartoons since their last one broke)
- 1 large table and 6 chairs (for studies)
- 1 cabinet
- Dettol detergent
- Washing powder
- Napkins
- Toothpaste and toothbrushes
- Sugar
- Juice
- Salt/Pepper
- Rice
- Red lentils
- Charcoal
- Oil

Also, we paid the repairmen to fix 2 coolers, and we purchased an additional water cooler. Furthermore, the painters were paid to re-paint the kitchen aswell as install new cupboards in the kitchen.

On Saturday we are planning the last visit to the orphanage before we leave for Sweden on Sunday. A few more things will be delivered to the orphanage on that day. We'll keep you posted!

A Delivery Of Supplies

Hello!
Today we went back to the orphanage again to deliver some of the things that they are in need of. We bought the following things:
-17 packs of diapers
-8 disinfectant wipes
-10 bars of soap
-3 Pif Paf insecticide spray
-3 milk powder packages
- Biscuits

The next step is to pay the repairmen to fix the coolers at the orphanage as well as pay for other things needed for the boys. Today we were submitted a full list of all the things the orphanage needs. This list ranges from necessities that are easier to provide such as food and sanitation products, to more expensive (yet equally important) things such as a new stove, refrigerator, AC etc. It is for this reason important that we keep working on raising funds to supply the needs of the boys, in order to improve and maintain their health as well as psychological and emotional wellbeing.

So please, do not forget to donate for the sake of the progress of this project. Every donation counts!

Take care dear friends,
The I Care Board
